Many embedded devices are based on the Linux operating system, and for those that are more graphically orientated, the Android operating system may be appropriate. As a result semiconductor vendors such as Marvell and Freescale are releasing Android board support packages (BSPs) to allow rapid development of Android devices.
In addition, the explosion in Android market share of the handset and tablet market has meant that many applications originally targeted at other operating systems are now being ported to Android.
ByteSnap Design is experienced at both original application development for Android as well as the porting of existing applications to the OS. We also leverage our embedded Linux development expertise to port Android distributions to customers’ target hardware.
