ByteSnap Busy at the Electronics Design Show 2016
Many thanks to everyone who visited our stand at the Electronics Design Show 2016 in Coventry this week.
We had a brisk start to our two-day stint at the UK’s biggest embedded engineering exhibition.
It was busy as soon as the doors opened on Wednesday at the Ricoh Arena’s Jaguar Exhibition Hall – and it stayed that way for much of the day. Graeme even ended up stuck with a 2 1/2 hour-old coffee!
There’s been a lot of interest in our latest version of ByteSnap’s popular UI development framework, SnapUI.
As well as providing fast UI prototyping on Windows Embedded and Linux platforms, our latest version of SnapUI supports Raspberry Pi and i.MX6-based embedded devices. The great advantage being that SnapUI allows developers to build and test user interfaces before the hardware development of the target device is ready.
Early feedback from clients using SnapUI Raspberry Pi is that it ticks the boxes for quick set up, ease of use and high performance.
Remote monitoring system demo
Our ruggedized submersible remote monitoring system immersed in a fish tank also attracted visitors.
It’s made up of two units – the solar-powered remote monitoring station and a ruggedized, waterproof data logger. The demonstration consists of two units; a remote monitoring station and a rugged waterproof data logger.
The remote monitoring station consists of various terminals for customisation – such as vibration sensors and inclinometers – PIR and a weather station. It transmits weather data through a 10k line of sight low power radio link.
Using a 12V power supply, the ruggedised data logger runs on Windows CE and has a screen displaying information in real time being received from the remote monitoring station.

Also, our new video, The Product Design Journey, caught the eye of delegates too. It takes viewers through the process of embedded systems development with ByteSnap Design.
Day two at the Electronics Design Show 2016 was busy as well; we came across a number of interesting and encouraging enquiries at our stand, L22.
The Electronics Design Show is in its 5th year and organisers say they fully expect the event to go from strength to strength. A spokesman added that turnout was strong – with initial attendance figures of over 3,000 visitors across the two-day event.
