The Process

To produce a successful electronic product design we follow a process which typically encompasses:

Hardware specification	From the customer's requirements we draw up a document detailing how we will implement the design.
Schematic capture	We use a CAD tool to draw up schematics based on the hardware specification
PCB design	The printed circuit board is designed using a CAD package
Prototype manufacture	The first prototypes are manufactured by an appointed sub-contract manufacturer
Test	The prototypes are tested. Any required modifications are made to the schematics and PCB
EMC/compliance test	The product may at this point require further testing to allow CE or FCC marking. Environmental testing may also be appropriate.
Manufacture	The product goes into manufacture

Some clients may not require all phases or require additional phases, such as software and FPGA development - ByteSnap Design has the expertise to help with all phases of electronic board design.

We also have considerable experience in liaising with product design teams to produce mechanically sound, cost effective designs. We have worked with both product design houses and freelance mechanical designers and can recommend companies to provide additional services for our clients depending on requirements.
